Meet Gareth Kerlin of Inspecx Home Inspection Services, Proudly Serving Lynchburg, Amhurst, Forest, Appomattox, Monroe, Big Island and Campbell County

The home buying process can be confusing and stressful, as homeowners and business owners throughout Southwest Virginia can attest. Not only do you need to consider things such as price and location, you also need to obtain a full assessment of the house or commercial building itself in order to determine whether it has any hidden problems that could become costly surprises down the road.
Inspecx Inspection Services helps to remove the stress from the process. We do this by providing you with an accurate, easy-to-read report on the condition of your home, and our job isn’t over until you understand everything in it.
As members of the InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors (iNACHI), it’s our job to seek out unknown problems on your behalf. Our iNACHI Home Inspection is an unbiased, professional assessment of the condition of the house. It provides you with photo-narrative, “you will see it as we see it” professional report on the condition of the physical structure and various systems within your house. Backed by iNACHI expertise, Inspecx Inspection Services excels in providing peace of mind on what is likely the largest purchase you’ll ever make. Gareth Kerlin proudly delivers perspective to the communities of Amhurst, Lynchburg, Forest, Appomattox, Monroe, Big Island, and Campbell County. By partnering with Gareth Kerlin, you will gain an informed idea of the property you are seeking to own and all that’s in store throughout the years ahead. According to the National Association of Home Inspectors, a seller’s inspection will disclose any major defects in the home’s physical structure (this includes the roof, basement, foundation, walls, and ceilings) or in its electrical, plumbing, heating, or cooling systems. These structures require a knowledgeable professional who knows how to evaluate a property, regardless of layout, features, and size. Here in Amhurst, Lynchburg, Forest, Appomattox, Monroe, Big Island, and Campbell County, Gareth Kerlin is proud to fill that role. Should any serious problems be detected, Inspecx will report them to you. If that is indeed the case, rest assured, you will have options available to you.
Our goal is to discover and inform you of anything we find that might affect your purchase decision. We’ll tell you about any significant problems and make repair recommendations. We’ll also inform you of what maintenance tasks we recommend to keep the home and its systems in top working condition.
When you, the buyer, partner with Inspecx Inspection Services, problems are categorized with relevance to your purchase agreement and safety risk. All homes have their strengths and weaknesses, and they are not always what they seem. Home inspection is best left to proven professionals. There’s simply too much at stake to do otherwise. Here in the Lynchburg-Roanoke region of Virginia, those professionals can be found at Inspecx Inspection Services.
In order to prepare the report, Inspecx Inspection Services must conduct a visual inspection of the house. The inspection process typically takes about 3 hours to complete. This of course may vary, according to the size and condition of the home.
We strongly encourage you to accompany us during the inspection. This will give you a chance to ask questions and become familiar with the systems of the home. We will inspect all the structural elements and systems of the home. Items that will typically be included in an inspection are:
- Framing (Structure)
- Roof and Attic
- Foundation
- Walls
- Electrical System
- Plumbing System
- Heating and Air Conditioning Systems
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms
- Docks
- Outbuildings
Additional items and unique home systems can also be inspected
When the inspection is complete, you’ll receive access to an electronic copy of the full written report of the inspection. We’ll tell you of any problems that were discovered and discuss them with you. We will also make you aware of any routine deferred maintenance items that should be performed, as well as answer any questions you may have.
